Bruce Power donates $6,000 to Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
(Tiverton) Bruce Power in Tiverton is marking September 11th with a six-thousand dollar donation to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The nuclear operator's President and CEO, Duncan Hawthorne, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it's there way to pay tribute to the first responders who risk their lives daily.
Bruce Power has about 400 emergency services employees.
Hawthorne tells us it's a critical role and the largest employer in our region wanted to "say thanks to them and their colleagues."
President of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Robert Kirkpatrick, says they "appreciate Bruce Power's ongoing support" of the organization.
The foundation is a registered, non-profit charitable corporation.
Back on September 8th, the Foundation held a national ceremony honouring over 11-hundred Canadian firefighter who've lost their live in the line of duty.
